Wisdom Teeth (Home Visits Only)

Wisdom teeth represent a huge area of fear for many patients. There is a stigma attached to the very term itself. Dental Lounge strives to dispel all phobias and fears, real and unreal from dentistry, including those that surround the removal of wisdom teeth. We act as a cosmetic and emergency dentist in Sydney to ensure our patients get the best care as required.

Painless Wisdom Teeth Removal

Several steps are involved in the successful removal of wisdom teeth. The first is effective anaesthesia of the area. Following this there may be steps involved in the surgery such as flap reflection, bone removal, tooth sectioning and proper closure. The anaesthetic however is the most pertinent to a comfortable experience. This is why we have intravenous sedation available as well as nitrous oxide on penthrox ready for you.

Careful removal by an experienced surgeon will ensure as little post operative pain as possible and a speedy recovery. As we are focused on patient comfort, Dental Lounge utilises the latest dental technologies and offer pain free options for every procedure. Be it wisdom teeth extraction, dental veneers, Invisalign, or dental implants in Sydney clinics, Dental Lounge will ensure you are relaxed and comfortable at all times.

Mobile Dental Services Care

At Mobile Dental Services we do our utmost to comfort patients and care for their teeth to the highest standard. All cases are different and all come with risks inherent with any surgery. Your medical history must be accounted for as should be your general health and well being.

Obviously more severely impacted teeth carry greater risks of complications and ramifications. The most pertinent of these is the partial or permanent damage to the inferior alveolar nerve when removing lower teeth. With this in mind, the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery quotes the following chances of nerve injury;

Temporary injury to the inferior alveolar nerve is 0.4%
Temporary injury to the lingual nerve is 0.1%
Permanent damage to the inferior alveolar nerve is 0.04%
Permanent damage to the lingual nerve is 0.01%
(Richard et al 2005 American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon)

Most nerve impairment following third molar extractions “recovers within 8 months” (Oral Surg, Oral Med, Oral Path, Oral Radiol, Endod 2005,99,259).
